This drawing explores the contrast between geometric shapes and organic forms. The central rockpile, organic, is displayed patterns and gradients, rigid and geometric, creating a mix of structure and softness. By combining elements of surrealism and graphic design, this piece channels my curiosity about juxtaposing organic forms with geometric counterparts.
This piece came from playing around with the idea of perception and identity. I wanted to create something that felt both familiar and a little unsettling, creating the notion that identity is more fleeting and contrived than we are comfortable admitting. The floating spheres and grid-like background create a vague, dream-like space that totally isolates the subject, while the hollowed mask is a metaphor for being pieced together by what we choose to see and show.
The below series is an exploration of movement and energy within a still image. Using simple lines and patterns, I aimed to create a piece that feels alive and invites the viewer’s eye to wander and explore. My hope is that it offers a sense of calm and curiosity, where stillness and subtle energy meet in a quiet, engaging way.
